Dutch Field of Honour Hamburg

The Dutch Field of Honour in Hamburg-Ohlsdorf was consecrated on 30 june 1953. It is the central cemetery and place of commemoration for Dutch casualties who died in and around Hamburg. There is a monument for those who died in concentration camp Neuengamme. At this moment there are 350 people buried in the cemetery. The names of 99 other Dutch war casualties are mentioned on 3 panels.
Most of the casualties buried here died in concentration camps or during forced labour in Germany.
The Dutch Field of Honour is located on Friedhof Ohlsdorf, one of the largest cemeteries in the world.
