Walter Charles Coan was a grandson of Mr. and Mrs. H.C. Harding, of Weymouth. He served with H.M.S. Tormentor, a shore astablishment of the British Royal Navy near Warsash. The purpose of the base was the training of landing craft crews and British Commandos.
Coan was killed in a road accident.
