William Alfred Adams was a son of William and Florence Adams. He was married to Kathleen Adams, of Golders Green, Middlesex. Adams was posted to 166 Squadron on 24 june 1944. He was the flight engineer of Lancaster MK1 AS-G ME829. The Lancaster crashed near Dusseldorf on 23 september 1944. Three of the crew were captured, two bodies were recovered (Adams and Leslie Harding) and the bodies of two airgunners were never found. The plane was on a mission to Neuss in Germany.
